Living Life On The Edge
I would first like to Thank MRB for giving me a chance to share thru this site the day to day, week to week, the things I enjoy with the people that take their time to read my journal entries!
My First Entry 09/29/2008
I would like to start by giving Everyone a little background on who I am, and what I am all about? As time goes on, I hope that You get to know me and understand the things that put me on edge?
Well about five and a half years ago, a good friend of mine that I have been hunting with for most of my adult life, invited me to go turkey hunting with him to his farm in N. E. Missouri. After a morning of turkey hunting, I will never forget and seeing the type of deer that him and his wife were taking of the last couple of years? I somehow knew I wanted to be a part of the Show Me state for the rest of my life!
I have spent my life from a very small boy in the pursuit of fishing and hunting in the great outdoors! At a very young age I fished with my Dad, both for fun and money? Growing up in South Florida I was lucky enough to have the type of father to teach me the finer things in life! As I hope I have done with those I love around me. At the age of 16 I was a deck hand on a charter fishing boat out Ft Lauderdale and by the age of nineteen I was Guiding shallow water sight fishing trips for bonefish, permit, redfish, snook and tarpon all over South Florida! Also have caught many of the offshore Big Game Fish too. Today its not a living its just what I love. Although My brother Captain John runs a Charter boat out of Port Canaveral Fl as he has chose to make this his retirement and passion.
Started working for a phone company at the age of twenty and if I wasn’t working people knew to look outside if the were looking for me. I have been a lineman for thirty years and a Pole Climbing Instructor since the early 1980’s and teach overhead construction and fiber optic placing too. I am at home off the ground and this is where I got my start in deer hunting? At first it was only about the meat and the challenge, but as time went on it was about the people and the good times to be had! Today its much like my fishing, trust me if I never caught another I am, sure that I have caught my share? And as time goes on I enjoy watching other people and kids catch fish more than myself. As for the hunting I killed the best deer to date at one of my two small farms in N.E. Mo. last year? But the best part of the season was watching the love of my life take her first deer with a crossbow, and to be sitting with her when she harvested her first turkey was just too good to be true!
All in all its been a great couple of years and looking forward to many more and as time goes on I hope to share with all the great people I am, getting to know in the Show Me state and at MWT!
